Clara Teresa McLain

Clara Teresa McLain, 89, of Du Quoin, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 15, 2003 at 1:45 A.M. at Fair Acres Nursing Home where she had been a resident for one week.
She was born in rural Perry County on May 5, 1914, the daughter of John and Pelagia (Boczek) Przygoda.  She was united in marriage to Wilford McLain on October 30, 1939 at Sacred Heart Church in Du Quoin, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1980.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Jane and husband Earl Dean (Skip) Crain of Pinckneyville, grandsons Timothy Keene of Ballwin, MO; Patrick Keene and wife Karyn and great-granddaughter, Sophia Grace of O'Fallon, IL; step-granddaughter, Melissa Kellerman and husband Barry of Pinckneyville.  Daughter Doris and husband Richard Rottschalk of Du Quoin, granddaughter Jane Cohlmeyer and husband Robert and great granddaughters, Abigail Clare and Brenna Louise of O'Fallon, IL; grandson John Rottschalk and wife Jennifer of Fairview Heights, IL; granddaughter Julie Baker and great granddaughter McLain Tate Baker.  A sister, Julia Preston of Du Quoin, also survives her.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers; Stanley, John, Casimir, Leo, Joseph, Daniel, and Paul and Ralph in childhood; three sisters Sister M. Theobald, SSND, Frances Andrews, Catherine Ries, in addition to her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, August 18, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 P.M., Sunday evening at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Rosary was prayed at 9:30 A.M., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Du Quoin.
Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church or Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life, where she was a nurse for many years.
